- This is the article on the first Mysterio. For the second Mysterio, head to Frances Beck.
Quentin Beck is the father of Frances Beck. Once a stage magician, Quentin turned to a life of crime, becoming the supervillain named "Mysterio", and forged a contract with Dormammu to obtain a magical helmet that would grant him powers. He is presumed dead after falling off Brooklyn Bridge during a battle against Spider-Man, though in actuality, Quentin's soul becomes trapped within the helmet. With Spider-Man's encouragement, Quentin frees himself from his prison and returns to reality, reuniting with his daughter.
