Harold "Harry" Osborn is son of Norman Osborn. He is best friends with Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson. In the beginning of the series, Harry remained unaware his father's nefarious dealings with Doctor Octopus, as well as the fact that Peter was Spider-Man. Norman's and Peter's respective secrets put a strain on their relationship with Harry, and Harry unwittingly becomes entangled in various dangerous situations resulting from their clashes over time. When Harry encountered a sample of the Venom symbiote, he became its first host and used it to become a superhero in order to impress his father, being referred to as the "Black Suit Spider-Man" by the media. Eventually, Harry succumbed to its influence and became "Venom" before being saved by Spider-Man.

When Doctor Octopus sent the Vulture to assassinate Norman, Harry discovered his father's collection of highly-advanced armors and donned the Patrioteer armor to fight against Vulture, dubbing himself the "Patrioteer". Realizing that he is capable of operating the armor and respecting his son's wish to be treated as an adult, Norman reluctantly allowed Harry to keep the armor and attend S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy to learn to become a superhero. Shortly afterwards, however, Harry was forced to become "Anti-Venom", when Doctor Octopus sent the symbiote to use him as its host and fell into a coma once it was incapacitated. After reawakening and utilizing the Anti-Venom symbiote to destroy the Carnage symbiote, Harry resumes being the Patrioteer and rejoins S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy as a proper student.
